Boy, oh boy, has life gotten complicated lately!
The truth is that it’s always been complicated, but recent events have put a bright hot spotlight on just how difficult is is for lots of folks.
Hi there, my name is Shelley. I’m a former teacher, a mom of three millennials, a card-carrying member of the Sandwich Generation (we’re three generations in one home), and I’m on a mission to make sure that all of us have the skills and information we need to make life at home easier…even during these crazy times.
Here’s the deal…we’re all facing challenges.
If you’re setting up your first home, then you’re figuring out that there were lots of things your mom did that you didn’t acknowledge, If you’re (ahem) a little older then there may be things you’re having to take care of that a spouse always used to handle. And if you live in one of the ever-growing number of multi-generational households then you’ve got a whole other can of worms to deal with!
No matter what your stage and home situation, there’s no reason life at home can’t be simpler. Life is hard enough so let’s figure out how to make home life easier!
On a more personal note, I’m a bit of a political junkie and a feminist from way back (something I”m proud to have passed on to my own daughter). I’m a huge fan of disaster movies, trashy novels, and sparkly jewelry. I believe that there’s more than one way to skin a cat, that people can tell you no but they can’t kill you, that there’s nothing wrong with being a bundle of contradictions, and that a little vanilla in your drink makes everything better.
Where you can find me:
Here are a few places you can find me, but I admit that I like email the most.
I also send out a regular email newsletter which I’d love to have you join. You’ll get information about home organization & cleaning, saving money, cooking & recipes, plus anything else I think will help make your life easier at home.
