What is it about summer and peaches? Could it be that during the hot months the delicious sweetness of a good peach just makes your mouth water? This easy recipe for peach cobbler is delicious any time of the year, but it’s one that we frequently end up making more often during the summer. It’s quick, simple, and delicious.

For the last several years my son has made this cobbler for me for my birthday in June. Of course, it’s not a hardship on him. After all, the recipe comes together in minutes, and then he gets to share in the eating which is always a bonus.
Give this recipe a try and see if it doesn’t become one of your family’s favorite recipes.
Recipe for Easy Peach Cobbler
Easy Peach Cobbler
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large can of peaches 29 ounces, pour syrup off to use in the batter
- 1 stick butter
- cinnamon to taste
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cut butter into pieces and put into 9×13 dish to melt in the oven (about 2 minutes).

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a mixing bowl.

Add milk and peach syrup and mix well. Batter will be thin but not runny.

Pour batter into dish over melted butter. Do not stir.

Add peach slices on top of batter and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Bake approximately 1 hour until inserted toothpick comes out clean.
I do want to add that as written this recipe makes a very “doughy” cobbler. By that I mean that it has a lot of dough in relation to the fruit. If you like more fruit in your cobbler I’d suggest either using two cans of peaches, or cutting back a little on the dough ingredients. We just happen to love all that doughy goodness!
You can see that this recipe is super simple to put together. In fact, that makes it a great recipe for novice cooks. And while it says it will serve nine people, it’s so good that people may want bigger servings!
