When it’s time to buy something for your special someone the last thing you want to do is traipse around from one store to another. After all, it’s the gift – and the thought behind it – that’s important…not how long you spent actually shopping for it, right? I’ve found some fun…and some romantic…gifts for your husband. Even better, they can all be ordered online which ends up giving you more real time to spend with your honey. What could be better than that?

I have to admit that for many years Jungle Jim and I didn’t do much for Valentine’s Day. Our wedding anniversary comes quickly after Christmas and two of our kids have February birthdays. Those of you who are parents know what that means – mom and dad take a backseat so that things can be done for the children.
And we’ve never minded. Well….maybe that’s not totally true. I doubt that anyone really enjoys having to make financial choices, but it’s a reality for most of us.
But eventually kids grow up and situations change. None of the following suggestions are very expensive. Most are cheap and some cost nothing at all – except for a little thought and planning. You can show your sweetie how much he means to you on Valentine’s Day and every other day of the year.
Gifts to make your husband smile
This lovely Lover’s Crossroads picture of a street sign is personalized with your names and marriage date on it. I have to admit that I really like this. I just might get it for Jungle Jim since he didn’t get an anniversary gift this year. Shhh, don’t tell him. You can check on the image itself to check out the purchasing details.

Thoughtful gifts for that someone special
You’ve no doubt heard it said that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. It may be old-fashioned advice, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t so me truth to it. Make his favorite meal and light the candles. Don’t forget to include dessert. You might even let him choose the particular dessert he’s got a hankering for (and I’ll leave that topic right there!).
Another man might appreciate having his car cleaned or detailed. You’ve always got the option of taking this some place to have it done, but it’s also something you can do yourself. If he’s the one who always takes care of the cars at your house, he might really appreciate the effort you expend to wash and clean his car for a change.
And is there anything better than an old fashioned love note? Truly, it’s often the simplest expressions of love that mean the most. Gifts are nice and tokens are lovely, but don’t underestimate how much a simple list or letter explaining all of the wonderful things that make you love your sweetie would mean to them. Even in this day of text messages an other fleeting electronic communication, there is something timeless about love letters.
So there you have it. A list of items to get you started thinking about how you want to express your affection for your loved one. I hope your Valentine’s day is the best ever – after all, love is what makes life worth living. And if you’ve ever given a truly great, romantic gift, I’d love to hear about it. I can use all the ideas I can get.

Thanks Lisa. We’ve spent lots of years where all the money went to the kids (something every parent is all too familiar with!) so it’s nice to actually be able to even consider some special things this year. Come back soon – BTW, I love your movie posts! I’m a fan of old movies myself.
