Floral Pumpkin Centerpiece

If you’re looking for an easy, yet elegant Thanksgiving centerpiece to create, the floral pumpkin is just what you need.

There are a lot of different ways you can create these centerpieces. However, the basic things you’ll need include a pumpkin and some fall flowers. First, you’re going to scrape the filling out of the pumpkin to create a bowl for the flowers. Then take a selection of orange and fall colored flowers, then simply place them into the middle of the pumpkin. This creates a stunning Thanksgiving centerpiece that takes very little time to complete.

If you prefer a centerpiece that will last through the entire fall season, you can achieve similar looks by surrounding a fabric pumpkin with silk fall flowers. Once fall is over, simply pop your supplies into a tote and pull them out next year.

You’ll find a lot of images online of floral pumpkin centerpieces. You can use these for ideas on arrangements.

Give Thanks banner and/or sign

Another easy piece of Thanksgiving décor you can create is a banner that says “Give Thanks”. The simplest way is to print out a banner on your computer but you’ll also find lots of great templates you can use for this too. However, if you do have a little more time, it’s worth putting one together yourself.

All you’ll need is some type of material for the banner, alongside stencils for the wording. Once completed, it can be hung over the fireplace or above the dinner table.

If you prefer, you can purchase a pre-made sign by clicking on the image below.

You can also decorate your porch with a sign that can be used over and over again since it’s made out of wood. Since it’s flat you could just store it under a bed when it’s a different season.

DIY Hanging pine cones

A very quick and simple craft idea is to create DIY hanging pine cones. You’ll simply need some pine cones, string and optional spray paints. You can use spray paints to color the pine cones in a Thanksgiving theme. Then, add them to the string or material of your choice before hanging them around the home. These are so quick and easy to create, and you’ll find lots of inspiration if you look online.

Apple candle holders are pretty and smell great

Table decorations don’t have to be expensive. You can create beautiful candle holders using nothing but apples with this you purchase at the grocery store. Simply carve out the core and place a long tapered candle within the center of the apple. They can either be displayed by themselves, or you can combine the theme by including an apple centerpiece. Be sure to check out my tutorial on how to make apple tea lights at your house.

Bring the outdoors in with wooden items

Bring a touch of nature into the home with this simple wooden cake stand. Even if you don’t have baked goods to display, it makes a pretty place to display candles surrounded with leaves.

Another idea for bringing a touch of the outdoors to your Thanksgiving decor is to use a simple wooden bowl to hold fruit, small pumpkins, leaves, pine cones, greenery or other seasonal items.

Don’t forget that bringing in elements from the outdoors will automatically add decorative touches to your home. Pumpkins and other fall gourds can be purchased at the grocery store. Leaves and fall flowers are pretty as part of a centerpiece for your table or scattered around your home. And don’t forget that introducing those beautiful warm colors make us feel cozy as well.

As you can see, there are a lot of Thanksgiving décor pieces you can create yourself and the only limit is your imagination and creativity. The above are just some of the easiest ideas you can follow. Most of the ideas on the list will take less than an hour to put together and they can be created in advance or ordered to have ready when you’re ready to start decorating. Search online for more DIY Thanksgiving décor ideas and you may be surprised by what you find.
