Confetti Spaghetti

A Mexican slant on traditional spaghetti

Ingredients

  • 1 pound spaghetti noodles
  • 1 1/2 pounds hamburger meat browned and drained
  • 1 medium green pepper diced
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 14 oz can diced tomatoes undrained
  • 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 Teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Cook spaghetti noodles according to directions on package.

  3. Cook hamburger, green pepper, and onion in large skillet until meat is done. Drain any fat from hamburger.

  4. Drain spaghetti noodles when done and add to beef mixture.

  5. Transfer mixture to a greased 9x13 baking dish. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.

  6. Uncover dish and sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Bake about 5 more minutes until cheese melts.
