Grapes make a great snack by themselves, but this recipe for grape salad turns them into a side dish or a light dessert. It’s great either way.

I love grapes! They’re a naturally sweet and delicious snack. I’m perfectly happy to eat them right off the stem.
But hubby and I got to experimenting he came up with this combination that I think elevates grapes from a simple snack to a yummy side salad or dessert. All of the ingredients are good to eat by themselves, but when you combine them with the dressing it’s super yummy.

Grape Salad Recipe
Grape Salad with Light Dressing
Ingredients
- 2 pounds green seedless grapes
- 2 pounds red seedless grapes
- 1/4 cup shredded carrots
- 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
- 1/4 cup dark raisins
- 2 Tablespoons chopped pecans
For dressing:
- 1 cup sour cream
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions
-
Wash your grapes and put them in a large mixing bowl. Mix in the shredded carrots, sliced celery and raisins.
-
In a medium mixing bowl, beat the sour cream, cream cheese, and sugar together until well mixed. Add your vanilla extract, and almond extract or amaretto liquer and mix well.
-
Combine the dressing and the salad and mix until everything is well coated. Cover and chill until you are ready to serve.
This recipe is best served cold so we like to make it ahead of time and let it chill in the refrigerator until we’re ready to serve. It’s also one that gets better as the flavors mix in the dressing.
The dressing is yummy by itself
I’ll also warn you that the dressing mix makes a good amount. You’ll probably want to add it to the other ingredients in parts so that you control how much dressing you use to coat the rest of the salad. If you’ve got leftover dressing it’s great to use as a veggie dip. Store it covered in the refrigerator and dip whatever veggie or fruit pieces you like in it. It just makes them even yummier!
We like these rectangular food storage containers. They stack nicely to maximize your storage space.
