Jump to RecipeWhile I’m a big fan of pumpkin pie, my hubby (who’s the baker at our house) prefers anything with apples. This Apple Pecan Bundt Cake with Maple Glaze is another great recipe for apple lovers.
While you might think by simply looking at the photo that this is a complicated recipe, it’s not. If you can mix, roll, and fold, you can master this recipe. And the results are definitely worth it.
What You’ll Need To Make Apple Galette

- mixing bowls
- measuring cups & measuring spoons

How To Make Apple Galette
First, always gather your ingredients. There’s nothing worse than discovering you’re missing something right in the middle of preparation!

Prepare the apples by slicing them pretty thinly. The recipe says to peel them but hubby either forgot or decided not to. It still turned delicious and not peeling them certainly saves some time.

Form the ingredients into a ball. It will look something like this (not the prettiest sight but tastes great when done).

Roll the dough ball out to form a circular crust. You can see where he had to “repair” a few patches but it didn’t diminish the taste one bit.

Put the dough on your pizza pan and top with apples and spices.

Gently fold the edges of the crust up to form a “bowl”. This will help contain all of that warm apple cinnamon deliciousness. You’re now ready to pop it in the oven.

Your house will smell wonderful while this is baking.

We’ve Been Watching The Budget At Our House
One thing I love about this recipe is that it’s not horribly expensive to make (unlike many desserts). Like a lot of people, we’re watching our grocery budget as closely as we can to avoid having a heart attack when we check out of the store.
A few years ago I took a course called the Grocery Budget Makeover. I learned a lot even though I thought I was already pretty frugal. The course is reasonably priced and it’s hard not to end up saving much more than it costs.
